This is a copy of the 1910 Census record that includes Benjamin and Ester Padgug living with Ester's mother, Sarah M. Perlmutter. There is a notation that Sarah's husband lives there, too, however he is listed on another page of the census. It looks like they resided at 100 Thedore Street in New York. This is the first official record of Benjamin in the U.S., that we have found so far. We believe that Benajamin was born in Priluki, Poltava Geburnia in the Ukraine (then Russia) in 1884. From family history we show Benjamin as being four years old when he came to the U.S. with his parents in 1888. The other link is a blank copy of the 1910 Census form (courtesy of Ancestry.com). This will enable you to see what the headings are in the original form which is difficult to read. The last link is to the Tenement Museum in New York City. It has a virtual tour of the renovated building at 97 Orchard Street.
